  • Extrapolation- finding a pattern and predicting next possibility
  • Cause and effect- helping clients to recognize patterns of personal behavior
  • Sequence- “what was the sequence of events?” or “How would you like the sequence of events to be in the future?”
  • Application
  • Given a problem new to the client, the client will apply the appropriate abstraction without having to be prompted as to which abstract is correct or without having to be shown how to use it in that situation
  • Analysis
  • Client breaks down situation or relationship into its constituent parts, and names the relationship of the parts to the whole and the whole to the parts
  • Synthesis
  • Clients use known or given elements of information and rearranges them to form a new entity
  • Evaluation
  • Client, using criteria, own or determined by others (experts) forms an opinion.
